Lunch Program
Prospect Ridge Academy is excited to announce a new partnership with St. Vrain Valley Schools Nutrition Service as the Miners’ school lunch provider ahead of the 2024-25 school year. The switch to St. Vrain Valley Schools allows PRA to provide a healthy and more diverse selection of meal options while also streamlining the process for parents.
St. Vrain Valley Schools Nutrition Service is a participating vendor in Colorado’s new Healthy School Meals for All program and will remain a free service for PRA families.
Changes in Ordering:
New for 2024-2025, you will no longer need to preorder your student's meals. We will manage that side of the process in partnership with our colleagues in St. Vrain. Every student who needs a lunch will get one.
K-8: In addition to the hot lunch option students K-8 will have a "cold lunch option" that rotates between two options: the "PB&J Grape Jr. Bistro Box" or the "Yogurt Jr Box". Students will be able to choose either the hot or cold option, not both. Fruits and veggies will be freely available for either option.
High School: High School students will have two options in addition to the daily hot lunch that will be different combinations of pizza/calzone, deli sandwiches and grill items. Students will be able to choose one of the three options, not multiple. Fruits and veggies will be freely available for all the options.
Lunch Menu:
School lunch menu is available here. A printer friendly version is available on our website. You are able to click on the menu items to see nutrition information and ingredients.
Federal Free and Reduced Lunch Program
It is important for families to also apply for the federal free and reduced lunch program. Families who qualify for the federal program receive additional benefits and PRA benefits as well.
Qualifying families receive waived student fees, athletic fees, field trip fees and more.
For PRA, the more families that qualify at the federal level, the more additional funds the school receives from the district. Here is a link to complete free/reduced lunch registration.
Qualifying students in grades 9-12 can receive assistance with post-graduation planning, scholarships, state and national testing (including SAT, ACT, Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate), and post-secondary enrollment.
Families can qualify for additional resources, such as medical, food and cash assistance.
Families can receive support with community services, such as internet, gym memberships, passes to museums and cultural events.
Meal Modification Form
Parents of students with dietary restrictions due to medical conditions may fill out the Medical Statement for Meal Modification form.
Families with religious or cultural reasons for choosing vegetarian meals for their students' lunches may fill out the Meal Modification Form and return to the school by emailing nutrition@prospectridgeacademy.org.
Families using this form will be provided a meat-free meal, which will be different from the regular meal. Once we receive the form, families will be able to order meals from the vegetarian meal calendar.
