Community Service

In keeping with the school’s mission to create academic, social, and ethical leaders PRA offers a variety of opportunities for students to have meaningful interactions with the people, places, and resources in order to develop leadership skills and positively impact their community.

To this end, we begin with service learning projects in grades K-5. In grades 6-8, students are required to complete eight hours of community service each year independently. During their high school tenure, students complete 100 hours of community service as part of their graduation requirements. Projects are mainly initiated and organized by the students themselves, with support from teachers and counselors. Ultimately we hope that community involvement becomes a part of students’ lives beyond graduation from PRA.

Additionally, PRA’s Outreach Committee organizes regular service projects outside of the school day where PRA families can participate in projects that benefit local community organizations.
